Get started with Chitra

Everything you need to create your first on-brand post — sign in, describe it, and it's ready to share.

Two ways to use Chitra

Start free, brand it whenever you're ready

Start posting straight away

Sign in and type what you want to post. Chitra designs a complete creative with a caption and hashtags — no brand kit, no logo, no setup.

Best for: trying the app, one-off posts, and anyone who wants a post in the next two minutes.

Add a brand kit for your own look

Spend a few minutes once telling Chitra your business name, uploading your logo, and picking your colours and tone of voice.

Best for: posting regularly, and looking consistent and recognisable across your whole feed.

Make a few posts first — you'll get a feel for how Chitra responds. Then add your brand kit once you know what you want it to lock in. Nothing you make in the meantime is wasted; it all stays in your post history.

Before you begin

Only two things are genuinely required

A phone number with WhatsApp

Chitra verifies you only over WhatsApp — your 6-digit login code arrives as a WhatsApp message, not an SMS.

An internet connection

Posts are designed on Chitra's servers, so the app needs to be online.

Getting started

From sign-in to your first post

  1. 1

    Sign in with WhatsApp

Enter your 10-digit WhatsApp number. Chitra sends a 6-digit code to that number's WhatsApp chat — enter it, and you're in. No password to remember.

  2. 2

    Describe your first post

Type or speak a one-line description — an offer, a new arrival, a festive greeting. You can also attach a reference photo for the AI to build the creative around.

  3. 3

    Review your post

Chitra returns a finished image, a caption and hashtags — all together. Edit the caption inline, or just ask for changes in the same chat.

  4. 4

    Save or share it

Download the creative to your gallery, or share it straight to WhatsApp or Instagram in one tap. Either way, it's saved to your post history.

  5. 5

Add a brand kit — optional

When you're ready, spend two minutes setting your logo, brand colours and tone of voice. Every post afterwards follows it automatically.

Creating your first post

Three ways to describe what you want

Type it

Tap the message box and describe the post in plain language. One line is enough — Chitra shows "Designing your post…" while it works.

Speak it

Long-press the microphone, say your idea, then let go. Your words appear as text first, so you can check them before sending.

Start from a suggestion

Tap "Try one of these" for ready-made post ideas — festivals, offers, launches. They get more specific once you've set an industry in your brand kit.

Prompts that work well

  • “Diwali offer — 30% off on all LED TVs, valid till Sunday”
  • “New arrival: handloom cotton kurtas, starting ₹899”
  • “We're open on Sunday from 10am to 8pm”
  • “Thank you post for crossing 5,000 customers”

Working with a finished post

Caption, hashtags, save, share, regenerate

Edit caption

Rewrite it yourself and save it, or copy it straight to your clipboard.

Edit hashtags

Add or remove your own, in the style #DiwaliSale #30Off.

Download

Saves the creative to your phone's gallery.

Share

Opens your phone's share sheet — WhatsApp, Instagram, email, anywhere.

Regenerate

Asks the AI for a fresh take on the same idea, for when the layout or style isn't quite working.

The routine that works: preview the image → fix the caption wording → copy the caption → download the image → share to your platform → paste the caption.

Optional, but worth it

Add a brand kit in five steps

A brand kit is the step you take when you want your posts to stop looking like good posts and start looking like your business's posts — the same logo, colours and voice, every time, without you asking for it.

01

Business name & tagline

The name customers know you by, and a one-line description of what you do.

02

Logo

Upload a PNG or JPG and Chitra places it on every post it designs for you.

03

Brand colours

Chitra can pull a palette straight out of your logo, or you can pick from a preset — Primary, Secondary and Accent.

04

Tone of voice

Default, Friendly, Professional, Bold or Minimal — Chitra shows a live sample caption in each style before you choose.

05

Review & save

Check everything reads right, then save. Nothing here is permanent — every field can be changed later.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

The OTP hasn't arrived+

Tap "Resend now" once the countdown reaches zero. If the number you entered has no WhatsApp account on it, verification can't complete — try a different number.

My posts don't match my brand colours+

Check three things, in order: do you have a brand kit at all, is it switched on (Settings → Brand & Business), and are the right colours actually saved there.

A post didn't come out right+

Tap Try again — your description isn't lost. If it keeps happening, rephrase your prompt a little more concretely.

Voice input isn't available+

Chitra needs microphone permission to record your prompt. You can grant it later from your phone's Settings; typing still works either way.

Your data, in short

Chitra collects only your phone number, your prompts and posts, and anything optional you choose to add — a profile photo, a brand kit, reference images. You can correct, download or delete all of it from Settings at any time.

Getting help

Three ways to reach us

Help & support, inside the app

Settings → Help & support — FAQs, contact us, report an issue. Start here; most questions are already answered.

Contact support from the login screen

If you can't get in at all, the sign-in and verification screens carry a Contact support link, so you don't need an account to ask for help.

Email us

Write to info@chitraai.in with your registered WhatsApp number, what you were doing, and the exact message you saw — it saves a round trip.

Now go make something

Your next post is about one sentence away. Sign in and describe it — Chitra takes it from there.
